An introductory course using visual materials with emphasis on methods and motivations that generate the visual experience, both past and present. Art practices from around the world are examined for form and content. Emphasis will be on Western Art.
Course Outcomes:
1. Articulate verbally and in writing a general understanding of the significance of visual art in a wide variety of culture and media.
2. Create a personal work of art. Articulate verbally and in writing the form and content of the piece, along with information about significant artists and art works relative to the created artwork, and to visual art.
3. Articulate verbally and in writing appropriate art vocabulary, and art evaluation concepts, when viewing visual art.
This course introduces the framework of the law as it affects a business, including the origins of the American legal system, how the law operates, and how it is enforced. It covers legal regulation of business, including civil and criminal law, formation of contracts, employment law, environmental regulation, real estate, and consumer rights.

1. Explain the origins of the American legal system.
2. Apply elements of law to specific individual and business scenarios.
3. Understand the requirements for a valid contract and apply those requirements to specific contractual activities.
4. Recognize the interconnectedness of the legal system to business, society, and the environment.
5. Explain the impact of the uniform commercial code, UCC, on the business environment.
This course continues Practical Accounting I with more detailed explanations of the accounting cycle. Covers special journals, ledgers, business forms, including vouchers. Emphasizes accounting for partnerships.

1. Complete the entire accounting cycle for a merchandising company.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of accounting for bad debts.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of accounting for notes receivable and notes payable.
4. Compute the cost of fixed and intangible assets and natural resources.
5. Prepare basic depreciation, depletion and amortization calculations.
6. Describe the characteristics of partnerships and basic partnership accounting.
This course covers the complexities of the communication process and the impact of communication on obtaining employment. Includes insights into the causes and effects of general communication behaviors, involvement in active exploration of the basic communication theories and concepts, and opportunities to develop communication strengths.

1. Demonstrate understanding of group, public and personal communication theory.
2. Recognize and describe the relationship between nonverbal and oral communication as it relates to the workplace.
This course is designed to use technology as a productivity tool within a business environment through the use of database software. You will use database software for creating tables, forms, and reports by manipulating data through various query tools.

1. Produce a simple relational database that stores information.
2. Create queries that retrieve specified information.
3. Create forms for entering data into the database.
4. Produce informative reports with the information in the database
Radiation Safety (NDT 130) is the first in a series of Industrial Radiographic Testing classes taught at Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) in Albany, Oregon. 40 hours of Radiation Safety training is required of any individual working with x-ray and Gamma radiation sources in industrial radiographic testing, including industrial radiographic inspection students. NDT 130 is part of LBCC’s two-year Associate of Applied Science program in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). The purpose of this OER is to provide students with a comprehensive textbook aligned with the NDT 130 course as taught at LBCC. NDT 130 is taught in accordance with ASNT, SNT TC-1A recommended practice and topical outline following ANSI/ASNT CP-105 2016 guidelines (page 63) for Basic Radiographic Physics Course and Appendix A (pages 113-114) for Radiation Safety topical outline.

This course presents an overview of the Microsoft Windows Operating System (OS), with emphasis on the OS design, configuration, operations, and applications. This course will also cover PowerShell scripting and includes researching, documenting, and presenting a key OS function.
Medical Terminology and Body Systems II prepares you to list major organs in each body system, describe their function, and identify and analyze pathologies related to each system. You will be able to discuss implications for disease and disability as it relates to each system, as well as issues related to treatment for each pathology and how it changes throughout the lifespan. This course has 4 Credit Units that will assist you in learning the course objectives.
